We recently installed a surround sound system in our living room and were looking for the best pocket projector that was compatible with our white screen. Setup Was Easy!

We hooked it up right away, and it was very simple; only took about 10 minutes. When the movie started, there was one thing we instantly noticed. The brightness and clarity of the images was amazing. And the great thing about this projector is that you can control the different viewing modes of the movie or picture that you’re watching. Other projectors are only good in low lit or dark environments, but the Optoma PK301 can be viewed during the day or at night without compromising its picture quality. And it’s because of the Standard, Bright, Movie and Eco options that allow you to customize your viewing experience.

Other Great Features

Other great features of the Optoma PK301 are the quietness of its fan and motor and the fact that it’s virtually low maintenance. With a minimum of 20,000 hours of use without having to replace the LED light, all you have to do is occasionally wipe clean the lens for optimal viewing. It finally arrived, and much to my surprise it beat my expectations just out of the box. it looks and feels better than any of the other ones i have examined first hand. The casing is sturdy and compact although the zoom swivel looks fragile.

A Great And Affordable Gaming Projector

This past month it was my wife and my 19th wedding anniversary and I wanted to get her something really special. You might be thinking that an expensive piece of jewelry, perfume or a new handbag would do it, but not for my wife. She’s the kind who’d rather a dozen Snickers bars over a dozen roses on Valentines. So I knew exactly what to get her. Believe it or not, this 40 plus woman loves playing video games. Whether it’s Guitar Hero, Wii or old school Nintendo, she absolutely enjoys them. So when I came across the Optoma PT105, which is known for its exceptional gaming projection, I decided that would be my gift to her.

There were a few factors that drew me to this projector such as the 854×480 native resolution (perfect for big screens), the 75 ANSI Lumens that increase the amount of brightness 50 times more than previous models, an HDMI connector which enables a multitude of different output sources, the LED light source with a life span of 20,000 hours of use, and it’s compact and lightweight design. The Optoma PT105 measures about 7.8 by 7.8 by 3.2 inches and weighs less than 2 pounds. It’s also very portable so just in case we want to travel or visit family and friends, we can take it along with us. Lastly, for a projector with so many features, the price wasn’t bad either. I purchased mine for $210.

Set Up Was Easy

When the package arrived I opened it to make sure everything was intact. Our anniversary day was a week away so if there was anything wrong with the device I hoped it would give me plenty of time to return it and get another one. Fortunately it was in good condition and while she was at work I even gave it a test run. Smooth operation, quiet fan, clear and bright projection and the images it produced were superb. I wrapped it up and hid it under the sofa until the big day.

The day of our anniversary arrived and the first thing I did was surprise her with her gift in the morning. She was ecstatic to say the least and wanted to hook it up right away. Once the projector was all ready to go we went ahead and attached our Nintendo Wii to the unit and began playing. She second my opinion on how clear and bright the images were, and this was at 8 am in the morning. What more when we used it that night to watch a movie, the pictures was even better than before. We’ve had the Optoma PT105 now for about three weeks and so far so good. We’ve also tried it with our laptops when viewing online videos and pictures, other game consoles and cable and satellite receivers. They all were great.
