Optoma HD33 (admin posted on February 21st, 2012 )

Project From iPhones, iPods, iPads And MORE

Optoma HD33 reviewI always hated when a product came out with a newer and improved version of what I already had. I kind of feel cheated in a way thinking that the manufacturers intentionally held out just so they can come out with the “new and improved” version. But in the case of my Optoma projector, I couldn’t be more thrilled.
I work for a small ad company and we constantly have to come up with presentations and slide shows of projects and such. Before I had the Optoma HD33, which was sufficient for the time being, but I wanted something of better quality and preferably higher resolution. When they came out with the Optoma HD33, I was excited to get it. I was already happy with the HD66, but I knew that the HD33 could further deliver in quality.

Setup Was Easy!

Optoma HD33I purchased one online and received it within two days. It wasn’t that much more than an HD66, which I bought over a year ago. The set up was easy, just like before and in no time I had it going. First of all, I like the design of the HD33 better with its organic shape. It has cleaner lines and a more modern appeal. I also like how it was made with long-life materials and uses components that are lead free. It’s great to know that something so sophisticated can also be eco-friendly. The Optoma HD33 also conserves on the amount of energy it uses by consuming only one watt power while on standby. It completely complies with the RoHS standards. Other energy saving features includes a rapid shut down function. It literally takes about a second to turn it off.

It Has So Many Capabilities!

The Optoma HD33 has more capabilities and allows you to project images from iPhones, smart phones, iPods, iPads, game consoles, Apple TVs, cable boxes, camcorders, notebooks, and Blu-ray and DVD players. This time around I also ordered the DLP 3D glasses to go along with the projector. Before I didn’t really find any use for it, but recently I’ve been converting all of my movies to Blu-Ray and have been really enjoying watching some of them in 3D. Not to mention, it’s also a fancy feature that’ll help give my presentations a little more oomph.

Most of all, what I really like about the Optoma HD33 is the 1080p resolution. It’s quite a noticeable improvement from the 720p of the HD66. The pictures are much clearer and brighter. It projects the images seamlessly. It really enhances the movie watching experience on my home theater and not to mention, makes my projects more professional looking. This upgrade alone made this investment definitely worth it.

What Other Buyers Are Saying

Well, I am very happy with Optoma HD33, and would recommend to anyone considering a 3D Home Theater Projector.
I will be getting an Extended Service Warranty, 3 or 4 years would be reasonable, just in case.
Overall I have been impressed the past week that I have had with this machine and look forward to countless more.
I’ve been using this projector a couple weeks now, and the 3D just blows me away. Sometimes, they say you sacrifice 2D quality for the sake of a 3D projector, but not with this one. And, coupled with the Optoma RF glasses, I am thoroughly enjoying my first home projector experience.

Optoma HD66 (admin posted on February 21st, 2012 )

A 3D Projector That Can Project From Any Sort Of Device Known To Man

Optoma HD66 reviewEvery birthday, I receive some kind of fancy gadget from my children. They’re trying real hard to keep me caught up with the 21st century and the continually advancing technology. And let me tell you, it’s not easy, but I appreciate their efforts. In the past, I’ve received gifts such as an iPhone, mp3 player, an Android tablet, and a digital camera. That’s what happens when you have children who are computer engineers and IT graduates. Although I’m very proud of their accomplishments and chosen professions, I’m often perplexed as to what in the world they are talking about.

I Got The 3D Projector For Birthday

Optoma HD66Well another birthday came and gone and this time around they gave me an Optoma HD66 3D projector. At first I didn’t even know what it was for. When I think of a projector, I picture a big bulky object with a long neck thingy that has a projection head on the top. You then place those clear, plastic slides on the main part and it’s then projected onto a screen.  This one was no bigger than a Nintendo and looked like one of those spot lights they use at the dentist’s office. The first thing out of my mouth was, “What is it?”

Of course my children had a good laugh and then the orientation and lectures began. After two hours of enlightenment, I realized how much I actually needed one of these. I frequently give lectures and presentations to my students and having such an advanced projector will not only make it easier for me, but it will really enhance the learning experience of my students.

The Ultimate Projector

The Optoma HD66 can project from any sort of device known to man. I’m no longer limited to the materials I preloaded onto a disk. With the Optoma, I can now project images and information I have on my iPhone, tablet and digital camera. The images displayed are bright and so much clearer and it’s because of the 720p resolution. It’s like you’re watching HDTV, but on a less expensive projection screen. There’s no graininess, and moving pictures display so smoothly.

Project 3D Images

This projector even has the ability to project 3D images. My children didn’t want me to miss out on that feature so they also got me the DLP glasses to go along with it. I’m sure if I picked up a pair of those for each of my students they’d probably find history a lot more interesting, especially when you’ve got rifles and cannons shooting at you. I wonder if I could find the movie The Patriot on 3D.

What Other Customers Say

i have used many projectors before at friends homes and at work. i love this projector, 3d tvs are around 2000 to 4000 dollars but for $799 this projector is really good. i watch with all the lights off in my theater room and the brightness, color and quality are very good. i would really say that i have an imax experience at home. i would suggest this product to anyone.

if you’re looking for HDMI, 720p native, this is the projector you want. it’s relatively cheap, extremely bright, replacement lamps last 4000 hours and are cheaper than other lamps in the same class, and it’s quieter than others with similar specs. the video and audio passthrough is nice.

I love this projector and so glad that i chose this over the hd20 where i would have to be in complete darkness all the time to appreciate the image which was a turn off towards projectors in the first place.

It’s Easy To Use And Easy To Setup

rogerIn addition, I really like how the Optoma HD66 is easy to set up and easy to use. I’m really glad that I’ve discovered the Optoma. It’s kind of hard to believe I’ve been going without one for this long. It’s truly an innovative and sophisticated gadget that delivers above and beyond its practicality. If I could, I’d get our entire history staff their own Optoma HD66. It’d be an awesome way to show up those know-it-alls at the math and science department!
