Set Up Was Painless And Easy

Upon setting up and hooking in my DVD/Blu-ray player it was ready to go. In addition to a DVD or Blue-ray player you can also hook up laptops and desktops. The Acer X1161P is also compatible with IBM PCs and Apple iMac or Macbooks. The operation of this projector is pretty straightforward and very comprehensible. As soon as I began watching movies using the projector, I noticed how much crisper and brighter the pictures are. The X1161P features 2500 ANSI Lumens for optimal brightness and clarity. It really enhances the overall viewing experience and is much more pleasant on the eyes. Like with any projector, the best images are produced in dim settings or dark rooms. I like to do a lot of my movie watching at night, so this works out perfectly.

Overall Design

The overall design of the Acer X1161P is very functional. It’s lightweight, easily transportable and I like the idea of how the buttons/control settings are placed on a remote control that you can slide into the projector, which acts like the control panel. And if you don’t want to keep having to stand up and change the settings, simply slide the remote control out for easier accessibility.

It’s 3D Compatible!

Another added feature of the Acer X1161P is the fact that it’s 3D compatible and produces the most outstanding 3D images I’ve ever experienced outside the theater. The color is more brilliant and you get crystal clear images. I have a lot of Blu-rays that feature 3D movies so now I can actually watch them using this projector. Since I’ve discovered its amazing 3D features, I hadn’t hesitated to throw a couple movie nights since I’ve gotten the Acer X1161P. I just had to purchase 6 extra 3D glasses for my family and friends so that everyone can join in on the experience. It’s so much fun and I always get positive reviews on how great the movie was, especially in 3D.

I’m really happy with this projector so far. I set up a diy screen in my backyard, and have had a couple pretty successful movie party’s. Once the suns down, I can get a really good picture at over 100 inches diagonal playing a DVD off my laptop.
All of that for under $400 – a complete home theater system that I can also take outside during the summer for block parties or whatever. Definitely worth the money for my application (movies for my kids, netflix).

A DLP Projector That Gives You A Lot Of Bang For The Buck

ViewSonic PJD5133 reviewI’ve been looking for a projector to use in my classroom for awhile now. A lot of the projectors on the market were either specifically geared towards home theater use or was just way out of my budget. I didn’t realize how pricey they could get especially since the last projector I purchased was still the old school design with the big bulky base, long pole neck and a projector head. You know what I’m talking about; they kind of resemble sail boats.

ViewSonic PJD5133Anyways, I was so glad when I came across the ViewSonic PJD5133 SVGA DLP projector. It seemed like a very simple and basic model; which was all I really needed since it was mainly for classroom use. I do a lot of lectures and slide show presentations in my class and it’d be really nice not to have to utilize overheads and transparent paper anymore. First and foremost, I wouldn’t be honest if I didn’t say that the first thing that caught my eye about the ViewSonic PJD5133 was the price. It was only $360. That’s hundreds less than other brands that I’ve seen; $800 less to be exact. After reading all its features and function, as well as a lot of positive customer reviews, I went ahead and purchased it on Amazon. Fortunately the shipping and handling was free, so more savings for me!

The package arrived two day later and I was excited. I couldn’t wait to bring it to school the next day and try it out on the kiddos. But first I went ahead and played around with it at home, using my matte white wall as a screen. After all, I wanted to look knowledgeable about the device in from of my students. Otherwise they may actually start to question my intelligence, if they don’t already.

Pictures Are Clear And Bright

I went ahead and plugged in my laptop to the ViewSonic PJD5133 projector and started streaming YouTube videos on my wall. What better way to test the projector than with live action images of people dancing to Michael Jackson’s Thriller. The picture was really clear and so bright. I almost forgot that I was just watching it on a painted wall and not an actual screen. The images were sharp and I couldn’t get over on how clear it was. In addition to awesome images, I also like the fact that its 3D compatible. If ever I chose to show a movie in my classroom, I can do so using this projector coupled with my laptop or DVD player. And if I wanted to show it in 3D I could, but then again I would probably require the students to bring their own 3D glasses, because those things aren’t cheap.

Another great thing about the ViewSonic PJD5133 is that it’s lightweight and pretty slender in size. I could easily take it back and forth from my house to the school without having to struggle or lug around a heavy electronic.
